The Governor of Anambra State and the national leader
of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Willie Obiano has said
that President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari has the full backing of
the state and party.
According to Governor Obiano, General Buhari will get total support from the people of Anambra and the APGA regardless the state not being a stronghold of the APC.
Addressing journalists shortly after a congratulatory visit to the President- elect at his Aso Drive residence in Abuja Friday, the governor said though he does not intend to leave APGA, the state government will give its support and cooperation to the incoming APC government at the centre just as it did to the out-going PDP administration, This day reports.
Obiano who had an indoor meeting with the President- elect, said their discussion during the meeting centred on requests of the people of the South East to be carried along in sensitive appointments and projects execution particularly the building of the Second Niger Bridge.
He said that there will be no room for marginalization of the South-East as the president-elect plans to work with the state to execute projects that will be of good to the people of Anambra.
Governor Obiano backing comes after he sent his congratulations to President-elect on his recent success at the poll.
