Kidnappers demand N20m ransom for AFN board member


The abductors of a board member of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Ken Anugweje, have placed a N20m ransom on the professor.
Mr. Anugweje was kidnapped Wednesday in Port Harcourt and updates served by
Olukayode Thomas, a board member of the AFN and Head of Media indicate that ransom has now been demanded by the unknown gunmen.
“Pof. Anugweje’s kidnappers are demanding N20 million ransome” Mr. Thomas simply stated.



Despite the ransom been demanded, the AFN is still appealing to Nigerians with information to assist security agents on how to safely rescue the Sports medicine professor who has been a key figure in the country’s sports circles, especially athletics.
In a related development, it was also gathered that the abductors of the 72-year old mother of the Head Coach of the Nigeria U-23 team, Samson Siasia, have slapped a N150m ransom fee on the aged woman.


The Nigeria Football Federation on its part has also made passionate appeal for the release of Mr. Siasia’s aged mother.
