Bruce Springsteen Extends Summer Tour
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are extending their summer tour into the fall.
Eight new dates will kick off the month-long trek beginning with a pair of stadium shows at East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium August 23 and 25. Additional dates include a mix of
indoor arenas and outdoor amphitheatres, as well as baseball and football stadiums, per a release.
The tour will wrap September 14 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA.
Springsteen remains one of the top-grossing touring artists. The recent 36 dates of The River Tour grossed $75,956,686, with 581,619 national ticket sales. That works out to a $2.1 million gross per show, with an average of 16,156 tickets sold at each venue.
The Wrecking Ball tour in 2012-2013 grossed $355,600,000 in worldwide ticket sales, with 3,650,535 fans attending.
The E Street Band takes off for its European dates kicking off May 14 in Barcelona. Tickets go on sale for the Virginia Beach and Washington D.C. shows May 13 at 10 a.m.; Chicago on sale May 14 at 10 a.m.; East Rutherford, NJ, May 18, 10 a.m.; Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Massachusetts May 20 at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com.
