FORECAST IN DETAIL
After our ridiculously warm December, this step down into winter is at least helping our bodies get acclimated to what we should be seeing this time of year. The first taste of serious winter chill is on the way. It doesn’t appear it’ll last too long, but it’ll probably be a bit of a shock. It may also be the first in several volleys to come. It is January of course!
Today (Saturday): The first of a number of rather sunny days. Unusual around here of late! Soak it up, as real wintertime temperatures are around the corner, and a stormier pattern may be as well. Breezes are from the northwest around 5 to 10 mph, and skies are partly to mostly sunny throughout the day. Highs head mainly into the mid-40s to near 50. Pretty close to normal if perhaps a bit above. Confidence: Medium-High
Tonight: Skies are mostly clear through the night. Winds are light as well. Those ideas in tandem, plus the fact that it’s January, lead us to a frozen night for most spots. Lows range from the mid-to-upper 20s in the suburbs to the lower 30s downtown. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Sunday): Mostly sunny skies should tend to want to persist out ahead of a strong cold front headed this way early in the work week. The day before a front is often among the mildest here, and temperatures appear to want to nudge up slightly from Saturday. Highs are mainly in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Clouds may begin to noticeably increase late day.Confidence: Medium-High
